Excel 50 is the newest member of Honeywell's successful worldwide series of EXCEL 5000 ® controllers. Developed to serve as a stand-alone controller with built-in communications or to be integrated into existing EXCEL 5000 systems, it takes the next step in advanced technology. Its broad feature set includes direct modem communication capability which allows remote building monitoring. Built-in network communication provides cost-effective distributed control in larger EXCEL 5000 systems.
Use the same controller for many applications
The Excel 50 is perfect for central plants and air handling units with limited controller input/output requirements or in small buildings with C-bus communications. Plus, the option of smoothly integrating it into the EXCEL 5000 system allows easy growth for larger applications.
Take advantage of remote communication capabilities
The advanced communication available with the Excel 50 provides alarm handling, scheduling, trending and more. The Excel 50 direct modem connection provides remote communication for an entire C-Bus without the cost of additional components. And, there's no extra cost for C-Bus network communication; the standard Excel 50 connects to the C-Bus.
Manage your building from one location
There's no need to purchase an additional costly operator interface with Excel 50. The controller is available with or without an on-board operator interface. This user-friendly, bus-wide interface allows you to see all controllers in a system from one Excel 50. Menu-driven, it allows active and passive buswide access. Now the user interface is even easier to use, and you can see system-wide operation from one location.
Save engineering time and money with flexible programming
Excel 50 uses CARE, the EXCEL 5000 programming software, as a software tool. Existing CARE programs can be quickly modified for use with the Excel 50. This time-saving feature minimizes engineering needed and maximizes total system efficiency. And, CARE programs can be downloaded directly into the Excel 50 Flash EPROM. The Excel 50 works on the C-Bus with all the other EXCEL 5000 devices. It also works with the Excel Building Supervisor, an industry leading graphic workstation.
